Default Is your lead a genuine Ross-Tech one?

Where are you located?

Default Do you have the right cable? Check their cable matrix to see what version of cable you need.

Default If you have an ebay USB VAG Com cable you can try this..

Cable Description:
KKL 409.1 VAG-COM VW/AUDI OBD INTERFACE USB Cable

Ebay Seller: SZHID (Expected Price including shipping: $20 or less)
http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/szhid/

USB driver for the cable:
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Installing the Cable:
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=158766

VAG-Com Software Download (Version 409.1):
http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/download/archives.html

Also Download the VAG-Com 805 (latest version):
http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/download/
Install it and copy the "Labels" folder from the 805 install,
Delete the "Labels" folder from the 409 install
Paste the "Labels" folder from 805 in its place

Fix for "Too many communication errors" while communicating to some Modules:

Default Re: If you have an ebay USB VAG Com cable you can try this..

Thanks for this post.

Has anyone purchased one of the newer Ebay cables that is supposedly a CAN cable? Some include the immobilizer terminology.

I dont have much need for one so spending 300+ just does not make sense for me as I am not a mechanic but just a curious owner. I wonder if I should buy the real cheap version as shown in this post or do I gain anything by spending just a little more for a CAN cable. I have an 05 A6 at present.
