I have an obd2 lead, the neccesary drivers and vag com 409 but for some reason the laptop and car just wont communicate. Laptop is running XP pro, dignostics fuse on the car is fine, anyone any ideas?? (car is 1999 a6 1.9 tdi avant)

Thanks for this post.
Has anyone purchased one of the newer Ebay cables that is supposedly a CAN cable? Some include the immobilizer terminology. I dont have much need for one so spending 300+ just does not make sense for me as I am not a mechanic but just a curious owner. I wonder if I should buy the real cheap version as shown in this post or do I gain anything by spending just a little more for a CAN cable. I have an 05 A6 at present. |
