Default The latest project has started...the foundation has been installed....

....so after 5+ years of ownership, and ~2 years of wanting to do it, I have started the custom stereo/video install. The starting point is to "deaden" the trunk with Dynamat.

Trunk before:

Measuring out the pieces:

In progress:

The finished product, ~36 Square Feet layed down!!

Next up is to remove the factory components.

Factory Bose subwoofer and amp/The future home of custom sub box:

Audi Nav drive and Phatbox will be removed as well:

Stay tuned for more

Default If you don't mind me asking, how much time & $$$ for just the Dynamat?

Default How much difference in road noise did the mat make? Wish you had taken sound meter readings.

Default Time was roughly 10 hours over 2 days for the trunk.....

...very hard on the back.

In addition was another hour we lost not having the right tool in getting the frozen bolts out for the rear seatbacks.

$$ factor is ~$4 per square foot, and there's ~36 square feet there.

Default Big difference...I drove around after removing the trunks interior panels...

...and the rear seats folded down. I heard every tiny pebble kicking up inside the wheel well, and under the car.

I repeated the process after the install...definitely worth the time, and I'm not done yet.
