Default oil bruning type smell-noob

Hey all I must say this is an awesome place for Audi owners. I am a new owner of a 2002 A6 2.7 with 44,000 miles. The car runs great an truley enjoy driving it. My issue at hand is that when driving it or in the mornings there is a burning oil type smell coming from the car. There are no leaks that are visible from under the car. During the first oil change I had a friend that mangages a Jiffy Lube (I know I know = Jiffy LUBE!!??) but my buddy did all the work. He looked all over and everything was dry. Occasionally I hear a relay type clicking noise coming from what sounds like above the brake pedal?? Any help will be greatly appreciated. thank you all in advance for your help. FrancoA6

Default well all the relays are located behind the driver side knee bolster

so that would explain where your hearing the clicking come from.

cant help with the oil smell, but i guess its a good thing if i dont know anything about burning oil...

Default Re: well all the relays are located behind the driver side knee bolster

I will add the the oil level is and remains fine after about 600 miles. The relay sound is not constant and not sure what triggers it. It's not a loud relay click either, very faint. Thank you, franco

Default cam tensioner seals are common oil leaks
