Default Hit with the dreaded Fuse 14 problem!!

Windows don't work, auto dimming doesn't work, no sunroof, doors displayed as open in the DIS, etc. I did some searching on the forum archives and I guess I've found some answers. Looks like I may have to disconnect my footwell lights now in order to keep the fuse from blowing again. Did any of you guys who faced this problem also have your alarm go off every hour or so for no reason? I am still trying to isolate the short and am not totally convinced that it is my lumbar support in the driver's seat. Any helpful tips out here guys??

didn't you add the homelink to your car BD...or was it a Factory Installed Item?

Default I also had the alarm thing.....

I have seen several things noted here in the past that caused fuse 14 to blow. In my case, I was able to isolate to the seat.

Disconnecting the footwell light is easy and cheap - if it doesn't work, you can continue to search.

Good luck!<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/534147.phtml">Earlier post regading Fuse 14 fix that worked for me.</a></li></ul>

Default Mine was factory install, but with all the A-pillar removals...

for running the handsfree phone microphone wire, antenna, radar detector, etc. one of the wires got pinched when re-installing the visor. The homelink is not listed in my manual for fuse #14, but another AWer here mentioned the various other components that are tied to that fuse and I figured I should check that before trying the dealer.

Car could not hold tiptronic, autodiming lights were out, no alarm, and the doors were "open" while driving (even though they were really closed).

Thank goodness for AW!!!

Default Here is what created my fuse 14 problem...

Had terk commander xm installed. Apparently got a short from something behind the head unit or the head unit not being all the way back in place not closing the ground loop. If you have done anything with the stereo head unit, you might try there.

good luck
