Default ABS Controller Repair Service: Excellent!

As expected, the ABS controller on our 98 A6Q finally died. I decided to try ModuleMaster for the repair, which charges $250 with a 5 year warranty. After removing the controller (a one hour job described elsewhere), I sent it off. They turned it around in one day, and the owner (Gavin Curtis) called to let me know he was shipping it, and I'd have it in two days. Got it today, installed it, and everything works. The surgery to remove the controller cover and perform the repair was very well done; you wouldn't know it had been worked on unless you were looking for something. Highly recommended; and of course I have no affiliation with them.

Default Could you, for the record, link to the description of removing the module?

Putting in the FAQ.

Default Easier Just To Describe It...

1. Remove front drivers side wheel.
2. Remove fender liner
3. Remove windshield washer reservoir
4. Unscrew ABS control module from ABS pump (need torx bits).
Any more detail, and I'd have to assume you normally don't work on your car...

Default Is the car driveable without the controller?

Just wondering, in case this ever happens to me.

Default Ya, that's what I figure, too.

Sadly.

I wonder if anyone ever considered relocating the controller to the trunk to try and avoid this issue?
