About a month ago, I replaced the suck pump, green one way valve and breather on the 99 sedan in an attempt to cure an oil leak from the passenger side cam seal. It was my hope that be relieveing the pressure the leak would stop. A few people asked me to update with results:
It's still leaking. Bummer. It may not b leakng as bad, but it still leaks enough to require attention. Looks like I'll be doing the cam seals and timing belt etc when the weather warms up :-(

Once they're blown, they're blown, and must be replaced. Replacing the suck pump seems to prevent them blowing in the first place.
I may try to do a consolidated post on this issue today. I've got a lot of good posts bookmarked, and it seems there's a need for a summary write up with a bunch of links. And it's raining, so I don't think I'm playing tennis, as scheduled.

They were probably healthy and a new suck pump would cure the problem. BTW, the suck pump I removed appeared to be in good shape.

I hadn't had any leaks, but when I replaced mine (at around 65k IIRC), it was certainly clogged.
Did you replace the green check valve, too? We're now hearing that too should be replaced, along with the suck pump. BTW, it was a reasonable thought, but it seems that once they blow out, they don't return to normal.
