![]() has one, and it usually looks like a metal pie dough crinkle cutter disc with a small metal rod held end first very near the disc. The sensor is the rod, and sometimes can be moved too far, or too close. The wires leading to the rod/sensor can also get damaged. There is also some precedent of the ABS controller going bad. This is the electronic portion, not the actual pump unit. Do a search on this forum, and you'll see plenty of info. Also check Stoney's FAQ (link under my sig) for info.

Rules of turbo ownership! 1. Let them warm up until the oil temp gets to 175 degrees (at least). 2. Likewise, after a "spirited" run, let them cool off for a couple of minutes before you shut off the engine. 3. Use full synthetic engine oil - 0-40 is best! These rules apply regardless of the ambient temperature. A little caution should mean longer turbo life. To clarify, this doesn't mean you have to sit in your driveway for 5 minutes and let it warm up or cool down, it means you should use common sense and take it easy when you start/finish your trip. ![]() Stoney's FAQ a must read Golf community and handicap tracking @ golfinity Old Oakland Golf Club |

I'll have to second that clearance therapy with the hall sensor. Mine was out of whack for a bit and I got the dual ding.. My mech recleared the sensor code, and then calibrated it's distance from the sensor ring in the swing arm mounting point.
Funny thing.. my other 3 ABS sensors read out 12.89-12.85 ohms, and the one I bought to replace my eaten one was at 15.27.. That calibration theory about the ohm's not being off meantioned in the article may be just hooey. The distance to the sensor ring seems to have been the only defect in the system. Wierd huh?\ |
