![]() Here i am armed with laptop and 20 page document detailing how to do the fix....thanx to a fellow A6er on Audi World. Saved me $400 from not having to pay the dealer. . Entire Window system removed. Interesting to note, entire side collision protection system is held in place with 4 10mm screw. So much for safe. Window assembly on table ready for work. The culpreton right. One little notch of a $7.00 part totally screws up the window system. Finally, I signed the inside of my door with a little AWOT humor. All in all, not a hard job to do. on a scale of 1 to 5, give it a 2. .

same 4 10 mm screws. It's in the system, not just the component. note that the screw holds it, and is not a part of the stressed item - the bar presses against the entire body structure, and the screws are not a component of containing the stress of the impact.

if you bought those at a dealership you should shoot the guy who sold you a part that is imo defective. We now have orange ones for the LQ recall iirc is the one that pertains to the window lifters.... I thnk
Basically those will fail again, just use the orange ones or the metal re-inforced peach/pink ones. |

Wait for it to fail before going in to have the recall done. Seems that if it was a defective part, they should replace it at the time of inspection irregardless of whether or not it had failed. But then again, they are still selling the defective parts. Something's not right...

Hi, you mention a 20 page step by step guide. Could I be cheeky enough to ask for a copy of this? I am a bit inept when it comes to repairs, and need all the help I can get! Thanks.
