Default How many people have removed breather hose valve (00 or 01) and found it clogged?

How long does it take to remove everything to get to it on a '00 2.7T?

Default When I removed this hose, I heard air being sucked in (or out)

Removed the hose (red arrow) first. Heard some hissing then a rush of air into the valve. The car hasn't been driven since 10 last night. Can the crankcase hold a vacuum for that long? Can I assume the valve is working properly?

Default That seems to be OK. There's a check valve in the main line . . .

of the suck pump to prevent the brake booster from pulling back from the manifold. I had the same release of vacuum as well as others (AudiSean, i think) which seems to be normal. If you remove the thing, you can spray it with simple green and blow compressed air through until clear. Be sure to blow both ways through the branch line first.

You can buy a new one from Clair for $26. The part number is on the forum (in one of my posts among other places). Although, I don't think you necessarily need to replace it if you clean it really well. When you do clean, look inside at the strange orange bug eyes and fine mesh screens. What a piece of work!

Default Back together and running smooth.

Hopefully someone who has seen a failed valve will post a thread.
