Default Has anyone installed a strobe kit on their A6

I currently own a 2002 A6 4.2. Different shops have told me that they will not install a strobe kit because of the onboard computer.

Default I guess if you really wanted to, you could install them....

instead of your higbeams in the front and instead of your rear fogs in the rear.
but whats the point of that?

Default Had a ricer come up behind me on the highway with them on

At first I thought oh sh%# when I saw them in the rear view mirrow - I was doing about 85 and thought I was being nailed by an unmarked. I pulled over to the right lane and slowed down - he passed me and waived. I almost called 911 and reported him. It must be illegal............

Before they execute those guys, I'd like to go up to them and smack 'em in the head and say "WTF were you thinking? (when you called the cops to brag about the other murder)"...how stupid can 2 people be???

Default Life's a lot easier with those morons behind bars. Press conference was moving...

... Police Commis. Moose was somber and teary eyed, and turned everyone's attention to the dozen people who died, and the families of those who died. It put things in perspective.

Default What is bizarre to me is the great "fear" that was created...

idiot dudes killed ?10 people over several weeks over a decent sized area...ok, that obviously is bad...
BUT, how many people are murdered in D.C. or the D.C. area every single day? ?2, ?3?
I realize a lot of people murdered are those engaged in anti-social activity...but the chances of being "sniped" were still only slightly higher than winning LOTTO...
I suspect the panic associated with these murders is that they were unconventional. People have been numbed to other manners in which murder is exacted...in addition to similarly heinous crimes like rape and child molestation...so this relatively unique technique is what had everyone so freaked out.
This is similar to the Son-of-Sam stuff in NYC many years ago...people were freaked by the idea that someone would whack you while you were just sitting in your car...but all that time over months, D.B. killed a bunch of people...but there were an average of 5 murders per day in NYC at the time! Berko was barely a blip on the murder rate screen...

We've "accepted" other methods of murder because of how common it is, but these were really no worse than most others...unless of course it happened to oneself or a family member.
