Default Stereo question - Line out covertor wire?

I have the Bose upgraded (crappy-ass) stereo. I would like to simply add some subs and an amplifier to power those subs. In my BMW, I simple T-tapped off the stock sub woofer wire, ran a line-out coverter, plugged RCA's from the L/O convertor to the aftermarket amp, plugged the sub in the amp and it worked perfectly.

My question is, is there a place in the back of the car where I can T-tap off a line to run a L/O covertor?
TIA

Default No need to convert...

At least in the symphony, there is already a line-out in the head unit. You just need the proper plug with RCA jacks on the end. See link for more info (including part #)...

Default Does this cable REPLACE the stock amp? I want to make sure....

the stock amp is still running the stock speakers, I just want to add an amp to run the aftermarket subs.

Default With the Bose, you can take line out from the stock sub.

Default I called Crutchfield and they know nothing about this. Has anyone ordered/used this adapter...

recently? I think that maybe it's old outdated information??? This sounds almost too good to be true.

Default Part # (and more info) inside

I used it on my 2000 Symphony (I know it also works for the Concert). The link below contains the Crutchfield part #. See if this help them find it...

BTW - I did have to cut part of the stock connector to get this one on. The factory connector on mine was covering the pins (though they had no wires connected to those pins). I had the option of "adding" the pins to the stock connector, or clipping it off and using the pre-made one...

I researched this for weeks last fall...and yes, it sounds too good to be true, but it worked for me. I have no idea if it works for the Symphony II radios found in MY2002 cars or not...

:-)
