In a post some time back, Arburg2.7t posted pictures of the trunk hooks found in the 2002 models (see link below). I ordered 4 of them from Clair at the time, but as of last week, only one of them had come in. I told them to ship what they had and got the one hook along with some other parts I had ordered.
The hook is part number 6Y5-867-615-B41 and costs only 1.95 each. There are two of them in a 2002 car. The screws are N-013-975-5 and cost $0.52 each, two are required for each hook. The hook looks like: ![]() This has got to be one of the least expensive parts you can get from Audi! It is spring loaded to fold flat and has that nice slow damped retract we all love on the interior coat hooks and assist handles. Arburg2.7t's photos clearly show where to mount the hooks. Holding it in place, I marked one side's screw location, drilled the hole, and mounted it with one screw. I then was able to carefully line it up straight and mark & drill the second hole. I used a #32 drill bit (0.1160"), but if you don't have the number sizes, either a 7/64" (0.1094") or 1/8" (0.125") should work. Here's the trunk with some paper to catch metal filings and Arburg's pictures. Note the drill stop on the drill bit - you don't need this if you are careful. ![]() It only took 5 to 10 minutes to mount the hook once I had the tools out. Here is what they are for: ![]() I hate groceries dumping out of those plastic bags in the trunk. I will mount the hook on the other side when the backorder comes in and may add one or two more towards the middle (or put them in my ladyfriend's Ford). As you can see, the bag is grounded on the floor of the trunk, so heavy things don't sway around. You can also see a couple of those velcro-bottomed blocks that come with the new trunk liner set. In any case, the part numbers are above if you want to add them to your car. - Tom |

Very useful. When I have groceries in my A6 I use the cargo net to hold things in place. Works well, doesn't require a drill.

Then again, I didn't discover the mini-visor above the rear-view mirror in my allroad until about 6 months had gone by. Pendejo!

Some paper bags have handles, some don't.
I use a bungie strap across the trunk between the two rear net loops, as well as a net. I put heavy items between the bungie and the rear of the trunk... very snug. With those and the other crap in my trunk (emergency supplies), I can pretty well contain my groceries. Still, the hooks are cheap and cool. I may try some. Thanks!
