Default Vag-Com Codes: Anyone have a decent list to share? (more)

I purchased a Vag-Com from Ross-Tech a while back. I've spent a little time using it on my Audi ('00 2.7T), but I'm crunched at work and haven't had the time to really sit in the car and "play around" with the software. I was wondering if anyone (Richard S. / Delaware Tom ???) had a list of codes to share that would save me some time. Also, any neat tricks would be much appreciated.

Default Its for replacing Bose speakers with your own spkrs & amps...

Bose uses cheap amps and speakers, so he adds equalization in the head unit. You want to turn this off if you install aftermarket stereo but keep the head unit.

Then, you use the preamp outputs of the head unit like any other head unit, or use the speaker outputs with attenuators.

You can also have the head unit modified to add a better output buffer preamp... see Precision Car Stereo in Mountain View, CA about this. The main reason they do it is because they don't know how to turn off the Bose, so they bypass it. But they claim it also is a better quality output with more gain or something like that.

Default Not sure what codes you mean... DTCs? Measuring Blocks?

Uwe has some generic measuring block stuff here but to get specific, you kinda want AESIS or Bentley manuals.

Block 115 is useful/cool on the 2.7T...various boost parameters.

Default My notes are at home, but some other things you can do include

1. Adjusting internal monitor (alarm) sensitivity.

2. Change service warning intervals.

3. Reset service warnings.

4. Adjust average mpg readout to correct inaccuracies.

5. Adjust wheel diameter for NAV system if you change wheel sizes.

Of course, looking for diagnostic codes on the engine, transmission, alarm system, etc. are especially useful. Join the VAG-COM mailing list for insights and help.
