Unlike the tuners, they have to operate within the bounds of price points and cost effectiveness.

Because we all know that BMW didn't really have performance in mind for that car and could afford to spend a few bucks on a good exhaust.
Manufacturers are very smart about overall car design now. They already optimized the car before it went out the door. Now, if you chip your car, perhaps you do need a larger intake/exhaust since Audi had 0.6bar of boost in mind, not 1.0. donp of audizone measured the airflow of a stock and K&N air filter. The K&N didn't do any better than the stock one. This is about as much I think of cheap upgrades such as these. Most do not work. Want more power? You're looking at chips, cams, and in a turbo car, turbos. These will make the noticable differences. The other parts will have a much smaller effect.

...if so, it worked, if not, you didn't get 43hp. BTW, where did you dyno your car to measure that horsepower increase?

Any Good muffler shop can do it. It is very easy. The only thing you want to avoid are the Bullett or Flowmasters. It makes the car so like a little hot rod rice burner
You shouldn't have to pay more then $300.00 for the whole system I have had remus and Scorpion exhausts that cost $1000.00 and it is just a bunch of hype |

Yes it is a K & N cone type. There currently isn't any heat sheild and I have heard difering opinions oon trhe subject.
I mean is a piece of plastic or a wood box or some other component really gonna keep enough heat off of it to make a difference?? My average ambient temp where i live is 70 degrees |
