Aluminum Trim
I need to firm up my October production order tomorrow as I am going on vacation. I am going with Grey interior but am undecided on Aluminum Trim and Wood trim. Could anyone post photos of the Aluminum Trim, as all the dealers just get wood?<p>JB from FL

It really depends upon which Grey interior you choose: Ambition, Advance, or Ambiente. The wood and aluminum trim for each "Atmosphere" differ,but not within the Atmosphere; i.e., within Ambiente, all wood is Vavona (the light-hued pearwood) and all aluminum is pearl finish. I believe.
At least that's the way it is on my '99. The brochure is very specific about what goes with what, but that's in the 99 brochure. I haven't seen one for '01. Unfortunately, the Audiusa website doesn't seem to show the aluminum differences.

Once you choose your interior color...(more)
...the rest is decided for you. Tungsten Gray is available only in the Advance atmosphere, in either cloth (2.8 and 2.7T) or leather (optional in 2.8 and 2.7T, standard in 4.2). The Advance atmosphere includes the dark wood ("Polished Burl Walnut"), "Titanium"-colored aluminum trim, and horizontal stitch patterns on the seats. Leather, if ordered, is water buffalo and is moderately-textured. Tungsten Gray is the only color available in the Advance atmosphere for '01.
With the Ambition atmosphere you can choose (depending on exterior color) black or maroon/black, in leatherette (standard in 2.8 and 2.7T) or leather (optional in 2.8 and 2.7T, standard in 4.2). It also includes the dark walnut, and graphite-colored aluminum trim. Leather is more coarsely textured than in Advance and seats have vertical stitch patterns.
Finally, Ambiente gives choice of melange, Vanilla/Black, and Vanilla/Royal Blue. Leatherette is available only in melange, only in 2.8 and 2.7T; Vanilla/Black and Vanilla/Royal Blue only in very smooth calfskin leather; melange also available in calfskin. Wood trim is light-colored sycamore, aluminum trim is "pearl".
