Default Can anyone help? Key stuck in ignition

Here's the problem. It's Christmas Eve and my two week old 2.8QTip has the master key stuck in the ignition. I can start it, drive it, put it in reverse, and put the transmission in park, but I can't get the key out. Because of the Holiday and the weekend, my first hope for dealer help is two days away. Couldn't find anything on this by searching, and don't recall seeing anything in the forum. Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

Use one of your other keys to lock the car for the time being. Also try turnign the car off, put it in neutral, then try to remove the key. Another possibility is to spray a little WD40 into the whole. Just a little, and make sure you have a rag on the floor in case it drips.

Good Luck! Let us know what happens.

Default happened to me once. Try turning the steering wheel. If it's locked, you can't remove the key.

But if you turn the steering wheel away from the locked position, it should loosen the key so you can remove it.

It happened to me once when I was at work, in a panic call to my dealer they said the key does not come out if the steering wheel is turned to a locked position...

Good luck,

Had same problem after valet parked. Apparently the chrome push to release button on the tiptronic shifter was not fully extending out all the way after releasing. After exercising this button and the shift, I was able to extract the key when in park. Whatever damage done by valet was temporary.
