Default Thanks man, did you push down as you twisted, or will it twist out without...

pushing down? Also, what part of the baffle did you grab? Thanks again

Default be cafeful not to disconnect the filler hose out of its place holder clip.

i got mine out of place when installing my 044 pump and it will prevent filling up your tank. also be careful of hose placement so the hoses don't prevent the sender float from moving up and down to read the level.

Default This is the tool I made.

Just a piece of 1/4" rod with a nut on the end that is bent to fit the notches of the basket. To make sure the nut does not fall off in the tank, hit the nut with a hammer and lock it to the rod.

The nut catching the notch in the backet and the leverage of going around the FP is what makes this work so well. Works equally well installing the new FP.

I tried for half an hour using my hands to get the FP out to no avail. Made this tools and 5 seconds later the FP was out.

Its not pretty but worked very well and didnt cost anything since I had the piece of scrap rod laying around.

Default Yeah I figured that. So when you put it back in you probably have to...

line it up, push down, and twist clockwise to lock it in hey?
