If the CF was directly connected to the IAT or ambient temp then the CF would have to change from morning when the weather is warm and again at night when the weather is cooler. I don't see that happening. I believe that CF is the calculation that ECU has made and keeps for a period of time, like a history.

Default Make sure to clear the codes for each oct change and driver it for 10-50 miles, before logging.

Default Since I've installed my Cooling mist stage one I've found that H2O/Meth injection...

can supplement octane. My best results have been using the Apr Race mode, 30-35% methanol mix, 91 octane with NOS Octane Booster Race formula added at fill up. Seriously, I saw between 20 - 22 deg timing on several fats runs done in close succession. Of course I wouldn't dare run the 93ish oct level gas without H20 injection on. I'm not that crazy. But, those are the highest numbers I've seen on my car, including when I was actually running 100 in the tank. It was 79deg outside.

My datalogging and experimentation with the system hasn't been as extensive as I would have liked due to work sucking away all my time, but I have gone through about 5 tanks of H2O/meth and this is my initial assesment.

When ran on either 91 or 93 octane modes, my 2+ seems to bog down at midrage RPMS, pick up, then die back off towards redline. The tailing off at the end is mainly due to the turbos running out of breath, but the intial bogging I think is due to 2 factors.
1. Most significantly, those codes aren't intended to run a bunch of timing and fail to take advantage of the added detonation resistance.
2. Because the Cooling mist kit injects the same amount all the time, it is jetted for peak HP, and gives some up on the low end.

But, throw it into race mode and its a different story. Pulls like an animal, even around 3700 where it bogged before. This assumes you're in the right gear though. The best test I've given the system yet was idling in place for 6 minutes on a 101 deg day, then driving a quarter of a mile to a freeway on ramp and nailing it. Its slow to build boost at first due to the heat soak, but as soon as it reaches 10psi, its like nitrous to the heat soaked dog. Thats when I knew it was a success. It pulled stronger than I'd ever experienced on a hot day. Until that point I'd always resisted driving the S4 on days above 90 deg. I hate feeling like I've lost 50 hp. That problem is no more.

Moral of the story, simple water injection with a bottle of yellow heet can allow the ECU to add lots of timing, as well as combating annoying heat soak.

I've still got a lot of testing to do though.

Sorry that I don't know how to post spreadsheet numbers without it looking lame.
