Contemplating my options right now, and I'm real happy with my APR Stage 1 right now in terms of driveability and performance for K03's. What do you hybrid guys think about this setup on an L box? I read some of Jacobs posts re: the RS6 compressor wheel efficiency compared to the stock K04 wheels and the lower wheel speed caught my attention. I'm more concerned with longevity than peak power. When I build this thing I want it to stay solid. Any tips for a TIPster?

Of course, get the proper hot-side options (Clearancing is a must and porting is highly recommended).
As you seem well-aware you won't be using them anywhere near their max (I don't think a tip would live very long under ~450-500wtq). But you'll be in a really efficient portion of the map with very low shaft-speeds at 20psi or under. If money is tight (The modding of the turbos is a few bucks) I would just go OE K04's. Either way, you'll have an awesome setup but the RS6's will have a tremendous amount of reserve. I would talk to Mike, Blk01s4, he's running RS6's and a Tip, though at a much more aggressive setting than you. Despite this, I'm sure you could learn a thing or two from him. Hope this helps, |

I would def go with this compressor wheel for many reasons. One that strikes me the most is its ability to generate boost at LOW rpm. I had K04 K16s in my car before and it just wasn't working out well, also had straight K04s which were fun but the RS6s kick a little more ass. If you are going to order K04 / RS6 go with PP and C and tweaked WGs that is a MUST. Worth every penny IMHO! Also make sure you get GIACs code for the TCU and put yours transmission in 032 softcoding. If you want to run high boost (+20psi more) and want to keep mods on the cheap side just do the Torque converter mod from 3zero3 motorsports, and get the VB mod from Sam @ Level 10. 3zero3 motorsports will cut the TC open increase the TCs ability to flow more hydralic fluid. On top of that they replace any friction bearings with roller. They also mod the stator wheel inside for a slightly higher stall I wouldn't go beyond 3000 RPM. Keep it around 2500-2700. 3zero3 will also replace the faulty seal inside the TC that seems to blow out at high hp levels that is also a MUST! Do not send your TC to sam at level 10 I dont think his outsourced company is down with European cars. As for fueling go with the Green Giant injectors and a MAF housing from Jacob maybe 85-88m if you are going to keep the boost at around 20psi. Soon I hope to have some code for the ECU and TCU from Mark at Autospeed he is going to custom tune the car so stay tuned!

good to hear you found someone to do the TC up right. I'm leaning more towards going with out of the box APR stg3 code and no mbc. I've been driving 00032 for a while now and the tranny's been alright w/ the 382 lb ft I have going to it now. I'm at 58K now, so I'm thinking when it comes time to do the TB, I'll just take it a little further and get the pull out of the way and do the turbos and downpipes.

if you don't expect more out of it later .. If you just want what I call detuned stage III software APR or GIACs Tip ECU code is the way to go. I was not satisfied with GIACs dyno results from their stage III tip. There is so much more left on the table its not even funnay! Again depends on what we want
![]() But def get those RS6 turbos you can't go wrong with that!

Was also thinking of using EPL .. Whichever would be best for the project is undetermined.

ASP is moving into a HUGE new facility... I have no timeframe but I know the move is something that's going to happen sometime soon. Preparing a facility for manufacturing on ASP's level as well as servicing customers cars takes a great deal of time, so I can't say.
