i'm glad everyone came away happy with their numbers. I hear some were "Ecstatic" about the numbers they put down. Thats fine and dandy...and sure, you now have comparitive numbers on the same Dyno. But let put these pompous ass numbers to rest. We know the EPL Dyno is a very happy and generous dyno. We know that a K04 equipped car is not going to produce much more than about 430 whp since the exhaust side is the limiting factor(perhaps 450ish with those dumps/open exhausts).
I agree Hybrids (K04/RS6 will make more) but we're not talking about those cars. Mainly the Plain Jane K04 cars. Now we KNOW the Dahlback Racing Stage 3 car is not making 434 awhp in real life, just as the AWE 439 WHP is fairly inaccurate as well. Inaccurate as in overly optimistic. Because if these cars really were making 430ish ahwp...that should EASILY put them in the 3.0 or lower FATs range. I'll bet that these cars couldn't do lo 3's let alone sub EVEN on a downhill!! LOL MarkP did 3.3x FATs runs with his 469 awhp with open dumps!! The numbers don't correlate...but we already knew that. So, this post is just for clarification, especially for some noobs who might take these numbers as hard. I'm sure i have missed some other points that i'd like to make/share...but whatever.

by AWE's 1.28 correction factor I'd end up with 561 crank hp. If I used APR's 1.32 correction factor, I'd have 579. I think everyone would agree that my engine would not read anything like that on an engine dyno.
Both "crank" numbers are much higher than the tuners claim and we all know the tuners will claim the highest they can get away with (within reason) to sell kits. Right? What we do have is a good apples to apples comparison from that day at EPL. |

They're not going to always correlate. Expecting them to suggests a basic misunderstanding.
