PHATBOX Configuration File Tweak.

This will get rid of annoying beeps and interrupted playbacks when changing playlist, artist, album or genre.

Locate your phatbox.ini file on PHTSYS partition of your cartrige.

First make a copy of phatbox.ini! In case you screw up and need to go back to default settings.

Open phatbox.ini in text editor and find part of the file with your version of firmware header, which for S4 with Symphony I should be under: [VWAudi_v7_2]

Erase all lines in this section that start with "audioid".

Copy and paste these in their place:

audioid.0.0=WAIT 0.50
audioid.0.1=TITLE
audioid.0.2=WAIT 2
audioid.0.3=END
audioid.0.4=WAIT 0.1
audioid.0.5=PLAY
audioid.0.6=SYNC
audioid.1.0=STOP
audioid.1.1=WAIT 0.50
audioid.1.2=CURRENT
audioid.1.3=TITLE
audioid.1.4=WAIT 2
audioid.1.5=END
audioid.1.6=WAIT 0.1
audioid.1.7=PLAY
audioid.1.8=SYNC
audioid.2.0=STOP
audioid.2.1=WAIT 0.50
audioid.2.2=BROWSING
audioid.2.3=CURRENT
audioid.2.4=TITLE
audioid.2.5=WAIT 2
audioid.2.6=END
audioid.2.7=WAIT 0.1
audioid.2.8=PLAY
audioid.2.9=SYNC
audioid.3.0=/dos/tts/beep3.wav
audioid.3.1=TITLE_TITLE
audioid.3.2=PLAYLIST
audioid.3.3=ARTIST
audioid.3.4=ALBUM
audioid.3.5=GENRE

Save and you are done!

NOTE: WAIT time between selection of artist/playlist/album/genre and start of the playback is set to 2 seconds. I wouldn't go lower than that since you will not have enough time to make next selection before going back into track mode.

I've had a love/hate affair with mine. It'll work perfectly for a month, then have all kinds of wierd bugs...after a song plays it starts displaying random numbers until it switches to "NO CD" and goes to the radio. Any idea what it might be? It drives me crazy. I set out on a long road trip and the thing gets fuxored an hour into the trip.
