Default TCD Install Question...

Before you tell me to STFA, I already did and I came up with a good link (Linked at bottom of post), but I have one qustion.

According to the install you must cut and splice in the wires in parallel.

My question is, can I use a simple wire tap to avoid all the cutting and keep the install clean and simple?

Default Where are you located? How much driving do you do?

I only ask because I'm an avid commuter in Canada and I deal with 4 harsh seasons and about 40,000 km/year (about 25,000 miles/year)
