I put my a-box APR (v5, 93 octane) ECU in my car this weekend after driving with MTM for several weeks. Part of my motivation is the valet option to be used next week when the windows get tinted....
Anyway, doing similar runs with the gf in the car, we concluded that MTM "felt" faster, though I was less sure than she was. The throttle with MTM seems to be more sensitive than APR - by that I mean you have to be somewhat more delicate if you don't want too much power. This is not bad for either, just an observation. MTM may just fit me better since I don't take it to red line very often. I will do some logging Friday or Saturday when the weather warms to similar conditions as when I tested the MTM. I will do FATS, but am actually more interested in comparing runs within lower RPMs. Obviously, this is nothing new and fits in with others' impressions, but I thought I would share. We'll see what the numbers say. That is all...

"sensitive" to the throttle vs. APR 5.0. I can't vouch for 93 oct programming, but FWIW I felt that my Sportec programming was more smooth than APR 5.0 on 91 craptane. Of course the consensus here is that smooth=weaksauce.
What version of MTM are you running?

smoother and MTM somewhat more twitchy... however, MTM is still smooth in that it doesn't jump around... both on Sunoco 94... I'll be interested to see the comparison on the same car in similiar weather and with the same gas...

But AMS is king! For combo of torque/smoothness/power (although x has more power)

placed on eBay almost right after I said I would buy it... I was not happy! I will keep trying to find one as I've heard AMS is solid. You've been through all 3, so you would know!

AMS and MTM are both very good in my book with APR in a distant third.

Haven't had a chance to log AMS yet, but will get around to it in time.

APR produced faster FATS, which didn't surprise me, but when actually comparing the numbers it was pretty much faster everywhere - even the lower RPMs... The temps were a tad lower, though, so I won't post until conditions are equitable and I log again... when I do that, I'll post a new thread and link from this one...
