Default So has anyone figured out a resolution to the RNS-E faceplate issue? The gapping on..

the sides and the overlap on the bottom? I know the paint and shoe polish fix for the color...but what about fit? Thx.

Default solution for the bottom is a Dremel and about 10 minutes of time; As for the sides...

not sure if anyone is really working on a "fix". I know I'm not. Personally, the little gap doesn't bother me. Not one person has ever pointed it out, and I highly doubt a non-Audi owner (much less another Audi owner) would ever notice. For example, here's a pic of my unit that I took to illustrate the "gap":

Default Yeah? But what about the other side? ;)

I kid. I'm with you-- that looks completely acceptable for what you're getting in return.

Default yes heat the sides of the center console and press them in - take your time

there is like 1 or 2 pics in my pp - i was going to redo it again (3rd time) to absolute perfection as my first time round was purely experimental and the second time came out great but i am Perfectionist so in the interm i made some alcantara piping. Turns out its looks great to me and people think the car came that way so its staying for a while.

for the bottom i let it overlap and added chrome piece (just like newer audis) this helps break between climate controls and faceplate so color match is less of an issue - due to different materials/surfaces they will never be 100%

my first molding :-)

Default Not sure if I have a pic of the other side (I'll look), but...

the unit snaps into the OEM mounting points, so it is centered in the dash (i.e., both sides are identical).
