Alright, I am impressed how many guys are making reasonable power on these Audi's. The stage 3 and up cars look like they make nice mild daily drivers. I am thinking of doing some of these things to the 2002 S4 Bi-turbo I just picked up, but I had a few questions about the engines.
What type and style of connecting rods are in them? What are the wristpins made out of? What crankshaft is in these things? What sort of main's do they have (how many bolts/studs hold the mains in, is it a fully skirted block, side bolted, etc. Are the cylinders steel sleeved or just some coating to the aluminum? What type of pistons is in these things? What type/type/material of piston rings is in these things? How thick are the piston ring lands? What are the factory piston ring gaps? The ring gap issue is the thing that really scares me; some of you guys are really increasing the boost and it sounds like you haven't even taken the engine apart. Anybody got evidence of ring end butting or fluttering? |

So let me get this straight you not know what is in the factory engine or its factory specs and you build them? Talk about shooting in the dark. How can you upgrade without knowing what you currently have?
I hope people aren't dumb enough to buy stuff from you |
