I did some searching yesterday, and found a few posts regarding how the mtm chip creates more low-end power by requesting(creating) boost spikes at low rpm. I was wondering if that was a bad thing. I'm trying to think mechanically if this was bad/good due to the obvious overspool issue with k03's. At that low of an rpm, would the k03 be spinning out of range, or would it be spinning within range but just more than average? Sorry if this sounds confusing, but I think you get my point. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

being said. I have a feeling that MTM & Audi try to keep all aspects of the programming to NOT put the K03's past their efficiency range. Just a guess, but it makes sense to me. Why would Audi want a company that they work with make a product that would ultimately make Audi pay for replacements for people still under warrantee? Just my $.02. Start the flaming...

When i had the chip it would hit 1-bar at 2.2k as compared to maybe 1-bar at approx 3k for other chips. Held 1.1-1.2 and then tapered to 1-bar a little before, or @ 5k, and then held a bit above .9 until 6k and then slighlty below afer 6.5k.
The early boost build-up would not bother me mechanically (as long as it's not "spiking" more than it should, 1.2 bar). Holding boost at higher RPM's would.

Now, in midrange, things could be close. How far the limits set?. You need to examine compressor map and calculate engine consumption for air based on RPMs and boost pressure you see.
In general, I don't see anything mechanicaly wrong with quicker spoolup |

I put in K04s over Thanksgiving. I've been driving around with throttle cut for the last 5 or 6 weeks.
I'll be using an MBC, TCD, and '5 bar' FPR from Vast and tweaking with Lemmiwinks. Hopefully we get good results. I'll post something when we get started and make some progress. |

I'm assuming 1.1 bar with mtm is only at WOT correct? So correct me if i'm wrong, but would half-throttle create around .5 bar? Has anyone ever tried this or calculated it before. If I can recall, the max boost for stock is around .6 or something. So driving half-throttle would never drive the turbo out of range. Am I right? Sorry if I'm just talking out of my ass, but i've been thinking about that for a while. Any feedback?
