Default Need Help Please!! Does the Stasis streetsport kit require drilling into the body of the car?

instructions state "vehicle must be properly modified to allow the concentric portion of the shaft to clear the aluminum upper control arm mount. Failure to clearance this area will result in damper shaft damage and possible front suspension failure."

is this a must do?? my friend doesnt think is necessary. if so where EXACTLY do i need to drill? where the shock shaft would theoretically hit the top?? TIA
