Default Are exhaust manifolds worth it when going stage 3?

I was thinking about the vast ones or ASP's manifolds. What are the real gains and does it equal the extra cost?

Default Eh, the stockers seem to work fine for most people.

If you really want to eek the most performance out of them, have vast port them a little and maybe have them coated. Anymore than that is a waste of money IMO. Although those ASP ones look real nice

Default $150 or $180 per HP, depending on where you shop.

Default K04 housings are too small to take advantage of them flow-wise...

I'd say the best advantage of them is a slightly quicker spool due to superior management of the exhaust pulses.

I seriously doubt they make any more peak power over stockers with the head ports cleaned up.

Default Stock Exhaust w/ port & polish and coated is the most I would do.

The amount of performance gained by keeping the heat with in the exhaust header and turbo is not much. I think the biggest benefit would be the lower temp under the hood.

Default new sig I see :o) One of these days I need to stop by to grab the cam bar, head tool, etc...

and the crank pin. Could you bring that stuff with you to work and I'll stop over on Friday or Monday (are you working both days?) and grab them.

Default Stock manifolds are superior in heat retention as well. Double walled>Single side ceramic coat

Default I would say yes only if you plan a Stage 3+ setup... Don't bother with plain jane K04...
