#9 or #11? I can't distinguish which each is. As you can see #9 says that there is a qty=16 and M11, which makes sense for the head bolts. #11 says qty=56 and M6, which I think is smaller and too many. If so, what are #11?

17 it the head gasket, 18 is the valve cover gasket. Plus you will need intake manifold gaskets, a new o-ring for the coolant pipe on the back of the head. A new exhaust manifold gasket, manifold to turbo seal ring, manifold locknuts and possibly studs.

ring if I don't separate the turbo from the manifold, right? Or do I need to in order to get to some of the manifold nuts?
Here's my current parts list, after adding some of the items you mentioned.... My plan is to: pull the engine in my garage replace the head with another replace the o-ring on my coolant pump (if it's more than just that, I can fix in the future instead) swap in a new clutch disc Parts needed... For the head swap: Head (Jim or Andy) Head Bolt Tool (Chris has one) Head Bolts (078103385K) Qty=8 - Impex $6.11 - 1stVWparts $4.76 Head Gasket (078103383K) - Impex $39.05 - 1st $30.39 Valve cover gasket: (078198025) - Impex $30 or $46 - 1st $35.81 Exhaust Manifold Nuts: (N90226403) Qty=9 - 1st $0.68 Exhaust Manifold Gasket: (078253039G) - 1st $4.96 Intake Manifold Gasket: (078129717N) - 1st $3.76 throttle body gasket?: (078133073J) - 1st $2.72 CV grease? (Mobil 1 suggested - PepBoys carries it) CV gaskets? (8D0407309A) Qty=2 - Impex $3.44 - 1st $2.68 Drive shaft gasket? (183521141A) - Impex $13.80 (wront part???) - 1st $10.75 Before I can drive the car: (ie not needed for engine pull/replace) Coolant (Xmas list) New spark plugs (Xmas list) New coilpack (have already) New coilpack extension piece (058905447C) - Impex $21.52 - 1st $13.40 Gasket? (058905261A) - Impex $1.71 - 1st $1.26 For the coolant pump: Just an o-ring? (ID=1.690" and 0.075 THK) FYI: Pump is 078965561 For the clutch disc swap: Pressure plate bolts (I have new ones) I plan to reuse the half shaft and prop shaft bolts as I put new ones in the last time I pulled the tranny. General: Engine Hoist (bought it) Load Leveling bar (bought it) Ok, what else?
