Default can someone post me a (large) picture of an expanded illustration of the rear dif?

basically from the center torsion to the very back... part numbers would be incredibly helpful as well.

TIA.

Default here is prop shaft to rear diff exploded. Torsen pic doesn't help...

...since it's the tranny w/ the Torsen, or an exploded pic of the Torsen itself.

Prop Shaft...

Rear Diff...

Default that is perfect... since you know the rear diff well.. I bought a used one and when I opened the

package everything looked fine (from the outside of course) but there was a large, grease covered ball bearing sitting in the bottom of the box. Looking at your pics I don't see where this would go... It is roughly 1" in daimeter. this has me very worried... the recycler insists that the case was not cracked open and it was removed from a good running 2001,,, but I'm really nervous right now.

Default you bought a whole audi rear end, or just a stock open rear diff (#1 in above pic)?

here is the rear diff housing:

and the entire rear long kneck diff piece:

Default I bought the bottom pic, but it was separated at the middle for shipping purposes.

basically looking at it, from the "1" back was in one box, and the the neck forward was in another. the large BB was in the first box containing the main dif housing.

Default CV Joint Ball, probably stuck to one of the drive flanges during packaging

Default Is part # 3 a part that isn't reinstalled if you remove it for some reason?

If so, what was its original purpose?
