A.D.D. version of LE-30 install (for the visually inclined)...

The kit with O.W. Kenobi's writeup

I couldn't find the firewall-run similar to where O.W. Kenobi suggested in his write-up; it's pretty sparce in there and I didn't want to ruin the hood release firewall grommet...

...so I decided to go through the ECU cover

Ran the transponder cable to the controller cable like I was supposed to

Sealed up the ECU cover and made all the electical connections near the fuse box (speaker, LED, switch, T1, power, ground)

Tapped the 6mm hole for the LED near the top of my steering wheel moulding and made small slit to acordian-like cover for better fitment

First test fire...everything worked...nothing started smoking or blew up (yes, that's 12:05 a.m. EST this morning...ugh!)

Reinstalled lower dash cover and discretely placed the toggle switch for easy access

Taped down cable before leveling transponder

Dremmelled grill ring area

So far, all of the visual and audible cues are working properly on the LE-30 (I get the appropriate beeps and light flashes to indicate that the sytem is on). However, I haven't been able to test the unit with a simulated laser yet. I tried using a t.v. remote, but the signal was too week and only slightly set off my V1 and not my LE-30.

Does anyone have suggestions on what I should use to do a full functional test besides buddying up with my local law enforcement pals?

Oh, one more item...the LED comes wired to light up in green and turns red only when it is triggered. I switched the connection points around (red to black and vice versa) so that it stays on in red (to match the cabin lighting) and turns green when activated.

Hope everyone finds these pictures helpful and it will compel you to go and install your system this weekend instead of letting it collect dust in the closet...yes, Oo.et.oO, I'm talking to you! (j/k - I'll give you a hand if you need)
