Default PENSKE vs OHLIN>>>

the consensus seems to be that if you want to have superior handling without sacrificing ride quality (harshnesss) ohlins are the way to go......what about penskes?

From reading thru posts, penskes seem to have the "advantage" of being properly set right out of the box and the handling seems comparable to ohlins, what about ride harshness? do they maintain ride quality as well as the ohlins?

TIA

Default You should be able to order either kit with the dampening being set properly

right out of the box. Either distributor should be able to talk to you and dial them in prior to shipping...especially when you're spending that kind of money.

You really want to compare ride quality and handling, and there are probably less than half a dozen people (if that) on these forums that have experience with both kits. I have yet to see a good review comparing the two from any non-biased source. Heck, I don't think I've even seen a good comparison from a biased source.

Default Was thinking the same thing ... who is really in a position to compare the two?

Most of us can only talk about one or the other.

Default i've been meaning to get a ride in tomasz's car since he put the penske's in.

though he's been in my car when it was set (more or less) on the stasis "aggressive street" settings.

of course, they feel much different depending on how the damping is set, much like i assume the penske's do.

Default Where are u located?

I might be willing to let you drive mine with the Ohlin's set up.... I have some pretty big spring rate but it is suprisingly smooth. My wife actually prefers it to the RS6 suspension.

Default technically you should be always able to make the Ohlins ride better

because we have seperate channels and adjusters for both high and low speed damping. Low speed for car control and driver inputs and high speed for big inputs like potholes, expansion joints etc.

That being said both companies ( Ohlins and Penske ) make the finest dampers available. And both kits serve you well for the money spent.
