Default Can someone tell me if any special tools are required to get the panel above the pedals...

off? I know there are some screws under rectangular trim on the lower dash panels but I don't want to mess them up trying to get them off if something special needs to be done.

Background: I have complained to the dealer about play in my steering. The mechanic says it is normal and just like all other Audi's despite my indicating that I never felt an Audi steering wheel pure play in it. Well they did a wheel alignment and afterwards the steering wheel was always pointed to the right when I was going straight. They aligned it again and now I have the same thing going on. I just want to find the source of the play and it is either one of the steering column universal joints or play in the rack and then point the unenthused mechanic to what he needs to fix.

TIA,
John

Default just a srewdriver iirc.

should be 2-3 above the pedals, and then 1 or 2 by the fuse box.

Default 4 8mm bolts, two under caps below the wood/alu trim, one at the bottom of the right, beside

console and one in the fuse box panel, which you can use that screwdriver to remove ;-)
