![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And here are the engine mounts, looks like i need new ones. ![]() ![]() So after having the Dealer replace my K03s 4 months ago and having them leak again now I have decided to ditch the CPO warranty and go to STG 3 (" - ", no fueling). Now I can't decide on RS6/K04 (hybrids in general) or OEM K04s, I use this car for DAY TO DAY driving (101/405 traffic every day to work for a grand total of 42 miles that takes me 1:45 each way to commute). I have found the following spool up / boot characteristics: K03 w/ Stock ECU @ 3rd gear ![]() ![]() K04/K16 in 6th gear, not sure if the load is the same ![]() OEM K04 - APR stg 3 @ 3rd or 4th gear (thank you Mark P) ![]() So here is my question. How are the boost characteristics of RS6/K04 and OEM K04 vs. K03 w/ STOCK ECU for day to day driving? Example: In 2nd gear (about 1.2 - 1.8K RPM) when making a turn on my stock ECU I floor it coming out of a turn you can feel the "torque" and you catch your self smiling for no apparent reason. (LOW RPM high torque) How will this change with OEM K04s vs RS6/K04 w/ GIAC ECU (K03 code)? (At some point i will be going full STG3) I don't know if the boost graphs above for the turbos are accurate for this situation.

don't do the k24 unless your going to do fueling and better air flow (head, cams and TB) but since you're going (-) cost may be an issue then go plain K04

I'd be more worried about reliability more than anything.

Reliability. Which I may end up going with in the end if my monetary situation, turbo situation and a vendors "plug n play K04" kit to get me in the proverbial door is priced right. (i.e. the stars align)
However, I am still eyeing the K03 hybrids (yes, call me crazy) but I still have yet to see conclusively that they are as horrible as many say they are in regards to reliability. K04 tuning on these cars is fairly "fresh" so chip codes are not yet as agressive as they currently are for the K03's IMO. MY preference would be to go K04/K16 v2's (k03 hybrids IIRC) or go straight K04's.

turbos than the K03, but I would still hazard a guess that if hybriding a K03 decreases its life span, so woudl hybriding a K04. (granted K03 could be from ~80k to 50k while K04 is 120k to 80k, its still a decrease in reliability)
