Default ive had mine out for about a year, and i live in south florida.. no paint problems whatsoever...

when i was thinking about removing mine, i posted the same thing, and i got a response from Doc... he said he had his out for a long time (i think 2 years at the time) and had no problems.. he also said it seemed to lower the air temps under the hood a bit, and i would agree

Default exactly my thinking. i know my buddy with a focus SVT had his silver paint turn

brown. with my knowledge of audi paint practices and the fact that it is baked at over 400 degrees i coulnt see how it would harm it. surely the ambient air over the engine will never reach those temps

Default Will it just lower underhood temps or are there other benefits?

Default I don't have the insulation on my cf hood for now. It's been fine for thousands of miles.....

It does make the car a lot lounder without it. I'm going to put it back in when I get a chance. There really isn't a reason to have it out unless it's a track car.

Default ~3 years now IIRC, don't see a downside to not having it....

Default I doubt it will either. What is the reason for removing it? Weight savings??
