Default Guys need help!!! RS-4 injector install...

So, when you install the RS-4 injectors, do you...
a. install injectors and spacers in rail and lower the rail with injectors into the manifold, or
b. install injectors/spacers in manifold and then lower rail on top of them.

If I go with b, the rail will not seat into the injector spacer, the spacer O-ring barely touches the rail (rail is fully seated on the manifold)

Either the injectors were not installed properly or the spacers are too short. Perhaps I'm missing some hardware?

Today I came really close to losing my car in an explosion...here's what happened... I was on the highway when I smelled gas in the cabin. I pulled over, popped the hood and found the engine doused in gas. After towing the car back home I checked the injectors and found the culprit...one of the injector's spacer O-ring (which is supposed to seat inside the fuel rail) was out (barely touching the rail) and gas was pouring out. The O-ring was seated properly on the spacer. I checked the rail bolts and they were fully tightened. What could be the problem? TIA.

Default A lot of people have used them, but there are also a lot of people trying different injectors.

I'm still stage II+, so you might want to talk to somebody who has actually tried them, haha. mike2ks4 has used a bunch of different injectors.

Default You better believe it!!! I pulled over and got away from the car as fast as I could...

I was expecting to see flames coming out of the car any minute, I was driving very hard and it was super hot out there...

Default that's impossible if you have the retainer clips installed properly

The clips keep the injector and spacer attached to the fuel rail. YOu should check the clips.

Default You are right Dave, the spacer is held tightly to the rail by the clip. The problem is...

that the spacer does not reach the injector top o-ring, even when the rail is fully tightened. I just checked, my bad!!

Default Greentops are pretty poor. Search on the Delphis or Siemens options some are using now.

Of course it depends on what you're trying to run as well... RS4s are still a good option.
