Default when changing the cv boot, how do you remove the 14mm Alen from the outside of the rotor

i am kinda stuck and i just started ha. just wondering if i put it in gear, then crank away or what. Let me know, TIA

Default Do it on the ground if your wheels allow this. If not, do it with the front two wheels in the air

on jackstands (assuming it is a front wheel), and have someone stand on the brakes really hard while you crank the bolt.

btw, have you read the first link in my sig? If that upper control arm bolt doesn't budge, you may want to call it quits and take it to a mechanic.

Default Doing the rear? Pop the center out of the wheel, put the car on the ground(wheels on) and crank on

that thing with a long torque bar.

Default Can you be any more vague? Are you talking about the rear and is this bolt the one that holds the CV

joint to the hub? What kind of tool are you using to remove it?

Default im taking about the front and its the bolt that holds the axle it looks like. the first bolt that

you need to remove to get it going.

Default I think that front one is actually 17mm, rear is 14mm iirc.

Default Well that's a 17mm. You need a lot of levarage and do it while the car is on the ground. If it's

already on jackstands than have someone hold that brake down.

Default it free spins in neutral no matter if the brake is depressed or not.....

will it damage anything if i crank on it in gear?? tia
