I personally have my doubts. Brake fluid is by design non-compressable.
Of course, that's barring boiled fluid as Reefer points out. :-p Stephen |

Plus it passes into a gas state at a much lower temperature (100C).

I have new pads, new rotors, bled the fluid once, maybe I'll do it again. But they still feel a bit mushy under heavier load. Maybe audi just doesn't know how to get a firm pedal?
Any reason to cycle the ABS pump and all that jazz?

I did one bleed and they were ok. Then a few months later I replaced all of the fluid again. They were noticably better. I think there are some issues with getting all of the fluid replaced in the ABS unit. By bleeding, using, and then bleeding again you get new fluid into the ABS.
By the way, I'm using stock DOT4 fluid at the moment. It is fine for what I'm doing with these brakes at the moment. Stephen |
