Default Interior door light bulb replacement DIY by Dan Jones

This is a DIY for the interior door light. Doing it alone is fairly easy but one other person to hold the door assembly and fetch a beer is highly recommended. The door pictured is the drivers door

Difficulty on 1 to 10: 2

Keywords: door light, red light, red door light

Parts: (1) Bulb P/N: N-017-753-2

Tools Required: (1) #2 Phillips, (1) Small Pry Device (not pictured)

Time: 20 minutes or 1/2 - 3/4 beer.

Note: This task is typical for all four doors. Figures are listed below steps.

Step One: At upper left hand side of door, remove phillips head screw.

Step Two: At upper right had side of door, remove phillips head screw.

Step Three: At aft part of inner door handle, remove phillips head screw.

Step Four: Remove inner sleeve of door handle by pushing down on upper lip and sides. This may require a small pry on the lower lip. (Careful)

Step Five: Remove two phillps head screws exposed.

Step Six: NOTE: BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN TAKING OFF DOOR LINING - SMALL WIRES ARE CONNECTED. To remove the door lining, (1) Push up on lining. The piece will move as a whole. (2) Gently pull the door lining away and have partner suspend in air or rest on elevated foot.

Step Seven: With lining suspended, pull away lower sound proofing material by tugging down and away from door lining. Ensure that the material clears the door hook.

Step Eight: On back of door light, remove white backing clip by simply pulling away from light.

Step Nine: While pushing on top clip of light housing (1) push housing out of door, top first. Remove bulb by sliding out. Replace.

Reassemble in reverse order. Note: When reassembling, ensure door lock is correctly aligned with hole. Task Complete. Enjoy.

Default might want to add "bulb replacement" to your title...

It took me a while to figure out what the "I" was in DIY. From your title I was thinking you were adding a new light or similar

Default Yep, I'm in SD right now...

The weather is awesome for driving. Too bad you can only drive for a good 10 seconds before hitting bumper to bumper around the clock. The max octane sold here is 91 and nobody around sells Toluene. So much for my APR chiptane. I've retired to eating icecream, screwing my friend's sisters, and working on the car. So wtf did your chit get finished or what? oh and whats with all the logon names?

Default it would suck even more if you were already stage III and

lived out there with the craptane and traffic....however, ice cream and girls are some of my two biggest vices, especially if the ice cream is on the girls, then i go ape ****.

not too much over here in tejas to brag about, although it is finally getting cooler.

as far as the car goes, i think that i finally broke through to mike and ever since then, he has been working on the car. last i heard the exhaust mani's and turbos are on the car....he's going to drive it around in limp mode for a couple of days and then let the tuning begin....i can't afford custom tuning, so we are going to try our best at the x chip and lemmi thing.

when is simpply getting a hold of that car?? and when are you going to iraq? also, ever coming back to texas?

oh, btw, 512s4 is for the area code and s4....i don't know but i was getting tired of arcteryx, but hopefully i can turn that 512 into hp soon!

later skater.

Default Still not sure what to do with the car...

I think my safest bet is to drive it to simmply when I take R&R leave around 6 months into my tour. That way I will have enough to pay him in cash ahead of time for everything and it won't have to rot anywhere. I can't really say when I'm leaving for the sandbox, but its in the very near future. I don't think I'll be in tejas too long before I gotta go. I'll email you if I get some time to get drunk and slap the hoes.

Default Now that you mention it, you can if you were careful enough. It looks like it would be really...

easy to break the top of the clip though. This is the way the tech told me to do it so I just kinda went with it.
