Those of you with wideband experience, which do you prefer and why?
I'm looking for something that is capable of logging RPM, throttle position, and AFR on my laptop. I don't want a ricey digital/analog gauge...that's out of the question. ;-) I'm really looking for something as simple as possible. Thanks for any advice. I've been doing some research on the web and in the archives, but still undecided on what to go with at this point. Hopefully, this thread will steer me in the right direction! |

I personally like to use the PLX widebands the best. No calibration is needed and the software is very user friendly. The only thing you need to watch out for with the M-500 is the wireless data transmission. If you can keep the antennas near eachother everthing will be fine; otherwise you are going to experience some packet loss. Your best bet is to get the hard-wire cable.

ZT-2
doesn't come with a display (its extra) so you need to have your laptop to log, but it has inputs for boost, egt, rpm, etc. Whereas those features cost extra on other wideband's. Anyways, you can sometimes find them for $200 on ebay, by far the least expensive one out there. Although from logging with both the ZT-2 and ECUx, we tended to use the ZT-2 to figure out the corresponding narrow band values and then just looked at ECUx logs because they were always spot on with the wideband O2 values, but take that for whatever its worth. Good luck |

Lc1 ~ 199$
Configure one of the outputs of the lc-1 for linear 0-1 voltage. then feed it into the secondary o2 sensor inputs on your car. I know ( 0-1 linear ) is not like narrow band operation simulation. But.. you will ba able to log: AFR, ( through the secondary o2 input as you record the voltage. ) Boost, rpm, maf, timing, and everything with ecu x and it will be on the same time sheet. does this make sense?
