Default Misfires and plug gapping....

I'm gettting misfire codes on my car, originally only Cylinder 6, I replaced the coilpack, now I'm getting misfires on in cyl 2 and 4. The offending cylinders have carbon trails running up the plugs to the coilpack boots, Mechanic thinks the boots need to be replaced, he feels they are fitting to lose.

I was wondering if this could be blow by, the plugs I'm running are Denso Ik22's, gapped at .038, I stfa and I did see .032 and .028 listed as gaps, so is it possible that the gapping on my plugs are creating this?

Default Missfires at idle I am guessing?

I have had a few friends with the same issue. Try raising the idle by 40rpm in the interum.

Are your plugs side gapped or end gapped?

I have triple side gapped at .036 and no misfires. I had some intemittant issues with missfires awhile back.

Default No it's only under exceleration...

As long as I stay under approxiametly 1/4 throttle or less is ok, but as soon as I apply the throttle even moderately the car starts studdering.

I'm not sure what you mean when refering to end gapped or side gapped.

Default Exactly that.....

...the electrode is seperated by a gap on the side or the end by the metal tip.

Default Update:

Last night the Plugs were "end gapped" to .030 and I've logged 60-65 miles with no studdering or codes thrown yet.

Thanks for the help guys.
