Default This sucks: looks like State Farm is excluding track casualties

Check your policies. However, for the most part, I think most companies do NOT expressly exclude coverage, which means that you ARE covered.

Default Allstate has always been this way... and their contract verbiage is steep...

this is a slight paraphrase from memory- "Allstate will deny a claim related to any preparation for speed, any timed event, any practice for a speed contest... and it goes on and on..

They seemed to carve out every scenario. So, I called up my agent and asked him, "hey, would my car be covered if I participated in a "driver-education" non-timed road course lapping day?"

His answer was a "yes". (though, this was too good to be true.)

So, I sent a letter off to him confirming our conversation.. the knucklehead sent it to their corporate office and a couple weeks later I received a nice letter from the gestapo's finest corporate attorney. It read something like, "we won't speculate to the validity of a claim till the claim occurs". No shiet, if I could tell the future too I'd be rollin' in the dough!

Default Crap! My renewal should be here in a few days.

I'll take a look at the verbiage and see what it's all about. Unfortunately the line that he quoted seems abundantly clear. ((((

i've been tracking on luck and good-wishes.. and I'd like to know about the official policy, but i'm too chicken to call in.

Default Calling is worthless, IMO. They'll always tell you it isn't covered.

Check your policy instead.

Default Consider switching companies. Worst case, you'll spend $100 more?

Seems worth it to me if you plan on tracking.

Default That's worse than worthless inasmuch as if a notation is made by your insurer...

...any ambiguity in coverage in your policy may have just been resolved in your insurance company's favor by calling them about it.
