Default BoneStock's first attempt at tweaking APR based stg 3 minus

Since it seems to be "post your logs" day here on Audiworld I thought I'd share some logs I took last night All logs shown here started with WOT in 3rd gear at around 3200rpm.

I started out with no Lemmiwink tweaks at all. Just untouched APRv5 93oct code and clearanced K04/K16 snails. Stock FPR and airbox as well.

Looks like I was running a bit lean. O2's were around 0.82V, climbed to 0.87V, and then dipped to 0.80V before climbing again. The second plot looked a bit better, though maybe also lean and also showing a little blip at the end:

I then ran some FATS times. All my logs of block 003 look similar.

FATS 1:

FATS 2:

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the timing down low seems to be sucky (as in too choppy), right? Maybe this has something to do with the blips in the O2 voltage logs?

Here are my fuel trims after all these runs:

Since I felt like the car was running lean I decided to use Lemmiwinks to add +7.03% primary and set Accel fueling to 105%. I set Accel higher since I've heard that its good to keep this in step with primary fueling more or less. I figured it probably couldn't hurt.

So I ended up with much better looking O2 voltage plots. However, I still sometimes see a weird dip or blip at the end of the run for some reason:

Run 1:

Run 2:

Run 3:

And guess what? Even though the O2 voltages look better at WOT my FATS times went up :/ This was sort of confirmed by my butt dyno.

FATS 1:

FATS 2:

And after all this tweaking my trims looked like this:

I think I'll try a little more fuel added for the next set of runs. I'm not totally sure what to make of the fuel trim data yet. Hopefully someone with more background can chime in.

I'm basically a logging and tweaking newb, so I'd be happy to hear constructive criticism of either my testing methods, or these plots themselves. If anything looks out of place, please let me know!

Enjoy

Would you mind doing another log of block 120 only, as if you were tiring to get a FATS time in 3rd gear and send it to me? I like to see what the ECU sees as torque and HP.

Default Yup, I am very excited.

I really want to know how well this works. I spent a lot of time on it. So, can you blame me?

BTW: EdyJun's S4 Directory is getting updated this weekend and I will be happy to announce that I have finally added movies.

Default put a 5 bar in and try again (you'll end up pulling some fuel)

Default Ummm, no. He has MBC in parallel and no TCD. 5bar would be idiotic.

C, congrats on playing around. I think you might want to try in between default primary (0%) and the +7% you tried, but that's just my opinion.

Default Not worth arguing, but I don't see how adding a 5bar to his setup would help.

He has plenty of fuel, shown by the rich condition near WOT with 7% added.

BTW, say you ran fine on 5bar with stock ECU. Fine meaning what...the car didn't explode? sweet.

Nice name calling, also.
