Default What type of boost is GIAC L308X putting out? I'm only seeing 16psi

This code feels alot weaker then the old version. I am seeing much lower boost numbers all the way around. 16psi max then tapers to 11psi. I will never blow my turbos like this i need old x back. Just to add i was running the old X chip with a MBC to get rid of most of the TC. I was still getting TC in the higher gears sometimes but not always. This new code i have zero TC without MBC.

Default Haha. Isn't that the point of L308X?

It should feel slower but not be *much* slower.

Default Its just a big difference when you were use to the higher boost torque

Default Moss/Piggie/whoever else was mad when I said most are reporting new stuff is slower....

read 'em and weep. I'm just going by what I've read and everybody says it slower.

Default From what I have seen is only slighty slower (~2.7 RHP ave @ 80F) for 2+..



This is over 4200 to 6500 RPM range. HP is now peaked more toward higher RPM. It feels different, as you do not see the big torgue peaks in the HP curve (feels smoother).

2.7 HP ave over FATS RPM range is about 0.043 sec difference for base FATS around 5 sec for 80F.

Default It may only actually be slightly slower, just that many are reporting it *feels* quite a bit slower.

Default It is deceptive. It is not as jerky as previous version. Feeling slower and actually being..

slower needs some instrumentation. Butt dyno is is not very reliable. Post your L308x and previous FATS, dyno, or Gtech curves for some "proof".

Default I'm seeing the same boost. Well, except for the lack of

boost spikes! Around 16psi, car feels as fast as before, it just doesn't hammer you down low like the old code did. Course, that also threw me into throttle cut and boost fluctuations, so in my case, the new code is much faster...

Default My dyno plots proved it.. and I was one of the first to say it.

But then I don't know if this is newer then my 8x, is this the magical 91 octane stuff or different?
