![]() It's been an RSK04 care the whole time, running water injection, with a mixture of washer fluid/water being injected. Sorry for the small pic -- pic poster resized it to a max 480 pixel height. M1 T&SUV 5w40 is in there now, and I'll probably change it at 6500 miles or 8 months, whichever occurs first. "LANCE: Universal averages show typical wear from this type of engine after 6,300 miles on the oil. Your oil was in use 8,000 miles and we iron (from any steel part sharing the oil) and sodium reading above averages. Sodium is present in some types of additives and in Red Line oil, so let us know if you've used either. Otherwise we think it could show a trace of coolant, though there's not much. We suggest that you consider your next oil and filter change at 6,000 miles and check back to monitor results. Insolubles show the oil filter was maxed out."

I cannot read some of them. What is copper?
I really don't like the comment on insolubles and the filter. What sort of filter were you using? Is this the first use of a synthetic possibly? Did you use any sort of cleaning additives? Given those numbers, I'd want to change the oil at 5,000 miles if only to see if they start to improve. Stephen |

...I wonder if the water injection contributes to the higher iron wear?

are generally okay at 8000 mile intervals. I just tried 9500, and they told me to back it off to 8k, but definitely not 6k. And I have lots of track time.
Proves that all engines are different, I guess.
