Default Sounds high. Here are my stock boost curves:

First, in original mBar:

Second, in converted PSI (using 970 mBar as vacuum):

Based on the same log, which was done in 3rd gear, ~70F, 93 octane, 1000 feet. 14 PSI seems high, but at your elevation, who knows.

Default based on what i've seen comparing sea level to 2k feet, you could easily hit 0.8 bar...

Default My bad - after STFA looks like it is about .7 bar or 9.8 lbs.

Default you're both right and wrong...stock boost will increase in poor conditions...

..or at least the pressure in the intake manifold will increase since that's where I tap for boost gauge in my car where i drive.

In winters at sea level, I'd peak at 0.7 kgf/cm2 (0.68+ bar or 9.95+ psi). On track in way hot conditions, the car hit a little over 0.8 kgf/cm2 (picture above) which is 0.8 bar or 11.66psi.

Here in vegas at 2k+ feet, I easily hit 0.8 bar (which is when my warning light goes off) since summer has kicked in, I can go past 0.8bar as long as I'm not in 1st gear. If you can get close to 0.9, that's almost 14psi. I rarely catch it, but I'll start flooring it more in the afternoon commute and see how high it's hitting. I'm guessing around 0.85 kgf/cm2.

Default So - like your post above said - if you are hitting .8 in hot conditions at 2k ft altitude

it is not unlikely I may hit .9 or above at 4,600 ft in hot weather

Default yeah, i think it's totally possible. Especially if you're really on it...

...say 3rd or 4th gear pull up a steep hill at over 4k feet with 91 octane fuel and ambient temps in the high 90's F.

I'd say it's good money. You could always log to compare the boost gauge if you're thinking it's off or reading high.

Default I was on it pretty good. I think I will learn how to use the VAG for more than

recoding my windows & clearing codes. :-) The boost gauge may be reading a bit high as well.
