Default Stock vs. 10% added to primary on Stock ECU to solve the High EGT problem. *EDITED*

ALL PARTS IN CAPS LOCK ARE ADDED PARTS (EDITED)

As some of you may know I was getting high EGT when doing a few WOT.

It was recommended to add 10% to Primary and log it again. Well here it is.

Click me to see…

(Side note)
IMO - With 10% primary car is very much happier I would recommend adding to the primary for those who are running 91 octane gas and those who are in traffic a lot (TRY THIS ONLY IF YOU HAVE A COMPLETE UNDERSTANDING OF HOW IT WORKS - DO NOT TRY THIS IF YOU ARE NOT SURE). I have noticed that in ~70 deg weather the car runs a lot smoother and cooler. The oil never passed 200 deg and the coolant would toggle between center and the 2 left mark on it's left during the 2 days that I was testing it.

In 90 deg weather with the A/C ON. The car also runs nicer and cooler.

The added primary acts a bit like having better IC the IAT is cooler quicker and the car's temp is generally kept lower.* (better FATS)

I personally add some % to the primary for day to day driving. (TRY THIS ONLY IF YOU HAVE A COMPLETE UNDERSTANDING OF HOW IT WORKS - THIS WAS ONLY DONE ON MY CAR) (there is no noticeable extra gas usage to my knowledge.)

It appears that a Stock S4 would need to have some tweaks for it to run safe (IMO). Remember I was getting High EGT after doing 3-4 WOT or when I was driving on the freeway and pushing the car. W/ 10% added it lower the EGT greatly.

It should also be said that outside air temperature and IAT play a major role in high EGT, on a Stock ECU more than running on the lean side (IMO).

Next - Log w/ out MAF and try 8% primary + 5% secondary.

Pressure test was done and NO Boost leek that I could detect was found.

Any Comments?

Edy

*EDIT*
I HAVE DONE THIS ONLY ON MY CAR. PLESE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A COMPLETE UNDERSTAND OF WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO DO.

*
I HAVE GOTEN THIS RESULT ON MY CAR AND ONLY MY CAR.

Default Looks good x33.

You can spend an unreasonable amount of time tweaking it up and down to find your fastest combo, but it looks good.

Default Should I be shooting for 0.88-0.89v for O2 on Stock ECU and 91 or will that be a waste?

Default Try only +5% and see how it compares. I don't see why you should be that rich at such low boost.

Stock is programmed that lean for a reason.
