Default Battery woes....

I attempted to start my car yesterday morning for the first time since last Wednesday. The battery was drained so I charged it up for ~75 min and started her up. I went to the doctor's office, then it barely started when leaving to come home. Later in the day, it didn't start again so I jumped it. I went to dinner and when I came out to leave it *barely* started. Now, I just put key in the on position to check voltage and it is just barely above the 8 on the left.

Default dead battery or alternator.

if OEM battery, check fluid level and fill with distilled. let sit overnight and charge again. see if it holds charge this time.

Default Interstate MTP-91 if you are looking for an OE replacement. It felt slightly lighter than stock.

If you want big weight savings go for one of the Odyssey batteries, but they may not have enough CCA for winter conditions.

Default You really need a voltage meter (can buy one at AutoZone or the like that plugs into cig lighter and

has LED readout) to tell you how much voltage your alternator is putting out. I would bet that your battery is bad, but it's worth it IMO to be sure. If you have a handheld Fluke-type meter, just put it on the battery terminals with engine running. You should get 13.7 - 14 V if alternator is good. Battery with anything below 11.8 V is bad and too discharged. Also be careful, as a bad battery can eventually cook the alternator by demanding too much current.

Better go see Piggie! ;-P Good luck.
