Default LaBree DP after 20k miles

There were some concerns about two years ago if insert piece would stay bolted and if gases would not burn it through....Well, it did not fall off, nor desintegrated under heat.
However, fastening bolts were gone after we tried to loose them. Big PITA to remove it so that KO4 inserts can be bolted in.

Now, what left me wondering was that rust on a flange. When I ordered SS option, it was expected that the whole assembly will be stainless, not just piping. Perhaps were was some fine print I did not read.... BTW flanges on a CATs are all rusted too

Default Can you take a pic of the pipe condition under that heat wrap? Just

so the guys around here will see that they're just fine with the wrap. ;-)

Default Pipes are stainless, so no rust there, just maybe a little dust

from the wrap. Yes, I looked there. Sorry, probably too late to take a picture, motor going back in tomorrow.

Default Yeah I know, but everyone around here apes the old "heat wrap destroys ALL

tubing" crap. Glad you could show them otherwise. ;-)

Good luck with it!

Default true.

the new Labree downpipes have a spacer that will fit K03 and K04 turbos. It's hard to tell the difference, but the spacer has one edge ground down a little more.

Default Wrap still looks nice

Much better than my handiwork ;-)

BTW : You can now get aluminium spray to coat and seal the wrap to help survive oil, moisture.
