Default Changing Transmission Oil.

I stfa'd and couldn't find anything on anyone changing their own trans. fluids/oil. I would like to try myself, but I don't know really all that much about it. I know i need gl-4 oil b/c gl-5 is no good for our trannies. I tried to find a DIY on s4biturbo.com, but no luck. Any tips or help will be appreciated. Thanks, Choopy.

Default there are 2 drain plugs and 1 fill plug (assuming 6 speed)

I used Redline MT-90 in the tranny.

the drain plugs are in teh center of the tranny, one towards the front, one near the rear, both look have allen heads.

The drain plug is on the driver's side up near half-shaft

Default First thing I found in FSM. I'll keep looking or get drunk, whichever happens first

Notes:

When checking the oil level in the transmission, the vehicle should be standing on a perfectly horizontal surface. An inspection pit or a 4-post lifting platform is ideal.

The prescribed oil level is to be adhered to exactly; the transmission reacts very sensitively to over-filling.

If a transmission with transmission oil cooling (e.g. 2.7 ltr bi-turbo) has been removed, the vehicle must be driven a short distance on the road before checking the transmission oil level.

- Remove oil filler plug -B- (in front of drive flange) to check transmission oil level.

- Check oil level with a suitable tool (such as a length of wire bent to shape).

Vehicles with V6 bi-turbo engine

Specification: oil level 7 mm ±1 mm below bottom lip of oil filler hole.

- Fill up with gear oil if necessary. Specification Page 00-3 .

- Fit oil filler plug.

Tightening torque

Oil filler plug: 40 Nm

Default Tip: Make sure you can remove the fill plug before draining the fluid.
